Tips For Dealing With Stress | 2019

My life is somewhat busy. I work 3 days a week, study a full time MSc 2 days a week and I have a toddler (as well as family, friends and a boyfriend to think of). I also have things in my personal life which add that little bit of extra stress! I regularly receive comments from people asking how have I not had a breakdown yet... Now don't get me wrong, I've had days where I've really struggled to cope, but they are quite minimal and in-frequent. I think I've always been the kind of person who has managed stress well, but recently I have definitely had to focus on ways to relax and de-stress more than before. These are some of the things that science says to do, as well as some of the things I have found worked well for me.

I'm pretty sure that (although I tend to avoid doing so) I can make a pretty sweeping comment here that all of us want to be happy. Granted, different things make people happy in different ways, but the vast majority of humans want to be happy in their lives. Some people are naturally quite positive, while others need to actively work on it. Others are in unfortunate circumstances which make happiness somewhat difficult. I have definitely had a period of time where I was a negative person and a period of time where pretty much everything around me was going wrong. However, overall I'd say I am a pretty positive person and I am a happy person. Of course we all of down times and times where we are stressed, but if we are keeping it general, I'm a pretty positive person (with a bit of an edge, like Pheobe).

As I mentioned in my 2019 Come Back blog post, I have been moving into a cruelty free lifestyle, which of course includes beauty. I'm still using up old products, but making sure that the new purchases are cruelty free. I'm still getting used to checking this before getting over excited and purchasing the item! So, as a newbie, these are all the wonderful things I have discovered and love in the land of cruelty free beauty.
