April's Best Bits

Thursday, 3 May 2018

April, AKA, the birth month of me. This month has probably been one of the best months of 2018 so far! Although, I did miss the mini-heatwave we had, but I was in Los Angeles at the time, so I will begrudgingly accept it. As you may be able to tell from the title, this is a post about some of the things I enjoyed during the past month, so if you are at all interested, keep on reading!

My Birthday:

So, to start with the most obvious one, my 26th birthday (the 7th). Now, am I a feeling a little old turning 26? Yes, absolutely. However, this was probably one of the best birthdays I have had in a while. Now, a lot of my friends live in different areas of England, this means it can be pretty difficult seeing them as often as I'd like. However, most of them came to party with me during my birthday weekend and it was awesome having everyone together. I woke up on my birthday morning to my friend Beth and my daughter, Beth then walked to go get me a McDonalds breakfast like a true pal.  This was then followed up by seeing my mum and brother for a bit, getting my makeup done and returning to my flat which had been decked out for the birthday celebrations by best friend Gina. Everyone else then arrived and we ate, drank a fair bit and listened to music and headed into town. We started off at a bar till it shut and then ended up in the gay clubs (which are always a good time), stuffed our face with a takeaway and then all died together at mine.
Granted my flat looked like the scene from the hangover the day afterwards, and one dear friend (to remain unnamed), spent a lot of time with her head in the toilet once we got back to mine (drink responsibly kids), but it was so much fun!

Los Angeles:

As stated above, I also went on holiday to LA this month. We went for 2 weeks, so it did take up a pretty big segment of April! I went with my mum, brother, best friend and Ryleigh (my daughter), as well as two carers for my brother (he is disabled). We stayed in Santa Monica for a few days and then Anaheim for the majority. I won't go into too much detail as I will have a dedicated travel post on it soon (follow me on instagram or bloglovin' for updates), but it was a lot of fun and it was Ryleighs first holiday!

I have a lot of stuff. I have a habit of not throwing things away, some may call it hoarding, I call it planning ahead. However, my flat is not particularly big, and now that there is me and the sprog, I just don't have the space. So, throughout this month I have been trying to declutter and get rid of stuff I don't need. I want through my bathroom cabinet and so many things were out of date or didn't work for me. I threw away/gave away loads bits and felt fabulous afterwards. I also sorted out my wardrobe again and put away my maternity stuff that I don't have use for. I chose to keep some of it just in case someone I know gets pregnant any time soon. I've been trying to go through the different rooms and sort out all the chaos, I may do a full post on this once I have tackled the dreaded kitchen.

Reading Festival:

I have never been to Reading Festival before, I've gone to Download instead, however, I am not able to go this year (sad face) but still really wanted to go to some kind of festival! So, I have tickets to Reading Festival instead! Me, Gina, Jenny and Kelly are heading there in August and we are so excited. Although I'm not into all of the artists there (pretty unlikely you'd like everyone anyway), there are a good chunk that I am very excited to see. FOB and PATD! are also there, so I can relive my younger days all over again.

What are some of the moments you enjoyed over the past month?

The next couple of posts should be my April Beauty Favourites and a travel post from my recent trip to Los Angeles. Follow me on BlogLovin', Instagram or Twitter to keep up to date.
